1. Summary

SQLForge is a local database client that helps you run and manage SQL queries on databases you connect to from your device. The App is designed to keep your data on your device and only transmit data to the database servers you explicitly connect to. Where the App uses third-party services (for crash reporting, etc.), those services may collect minimal diagnostic information as described below.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information.

Local data stored on your device

• Query text, query results, and query history that you run in the App. These are stored locally unless you choose to export or explicitly save to a cloud/remote service.
• Saved connection configurations when you explicitly save them in the app. Credentials may be stored in secure storage on your device (see Security below).

Credentials and connections

When you create a connection to a database, you provide the host, port, username, password, and other connection details. These credentials are used to connect to your database server. The App does not transmit your credentials to any third-party service except the database server you choose to connect to.

Crash reports and diagnostic data

We use a crash-reporting service (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics) to collect crash logs and diagnostic information to improve stability. Collected information typically includes stack traces, device model, OS version, and limited runtime state. Crash reports do not intentionally include full query results or database credentials. If you believe sensitive data was included in a crash report, contact us (see Contact below).

Usage and analytics (if enabled)

The App may collect anonymous usage metrics (feature usage, basic navigation events) to help improve the product. This data does not contain your query text or private data from your databases unless you explicitly share it.

3. How We Use Information

• To provide and maintain the App, including executing queries on databases you connect to.
• To store your app settings, saved connections, and query history locally for a better experience.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues using crash reports and diagnostic data.
• To improve the product through aggregated, anonymized usage data (if enabled).

4. Sharing and Third Parties

• Database servers: When you connect to a database, queries and connection credentials are sent to the database server you connect to. That data is handled by the database server and any infrastructure you control.
• Crash reporting and analytics providers: We use third-party providers (for example Firebase Crashlytics) to capture crash reports and diagnostics. These providers collect limited technical information and operate under their own privacy policies. Links to provider privacy policies will be added to the final website.
• Service providers: We may use other third-party services to operate the App (hosting for the website, email to support, etc.). Those providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their services and are required to protect your information.

We will not sell your personal data.

5. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect data stored by the App:

• Local storage: Query history, saved connections, and settings are stored on your device. If the App offers secure storage for credentials, those credentials are stored using platform-appropriate secure storage mechanisms (for example, Keychain on iOS, secure keystore on Android).
• Transmission: When the App connects to a database, that connection may be encrypted depending on the database configuration (TLS/SSL). The App itself does not inspect or alter the data beyond executing queries you request.

Note: No system is completely secure. If you have specific security requirements, please contact us and do not store highly sensitive data in the App unless you are comfortable with the platform/device security.

6. Data Retention

Local data (query history, saved connections, preferences) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Crash reports and analytics data retained by third-party providers are subject to those providers' retention policies.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to delete the information.

8. Your Choices and Rights

• Access & correction: The App stores most information locally on your device. You can view and delete saved connections, query history, and preferences from within the App where those features are provided.
• Opt-out of analytics: If the App includes optional analytics, you may be able to disable analytics collection in the App settings.
• Delete data: You can delete local data or uninstall the App to remove local stored data. For data held by third-party providers (for example crash logs), contact us and we will assist where possible.

9. International Transfers

The App and its services may transfer data across borders for the purposes described in this policy. By using the App you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated Privacy Policy with the new effective date. If we make significant changes, we will make an effort to notify users via the App or email (if an email address has been provided to us).

12. User Responsibility and Disclaimer

You are solely responsible for the actions you take using the App. SQLForge is a tool that enables you to run SQL queries and manage databases you connect to; it cannot and does not guarantee the outcome of any commands you execute. Before running queries that modify data (for example UPDATE, DELETE, DROP, or schema changes), ensure you have appropriate backups and the necessary permissions.

The developers, contributors, and distributors of SQLForge are not liable for any damage, loss, corruption, or other consequences that may result from your use of the App, including but not limited to accidental modification or deletion of database records, data loss due to commands executed, or any impact on database integrity. By using SQLForge you acknowledge that you accept full responsibility for any actions performed through the App.

If you are unsure about a query or its effects, test it on a non-production copy of your data or consult with a qualified database administrator.
